The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club. 2014 National Rally This year’s Cambridge–Oxford Owners Club (COOC) National Rally took place Sunday 3rd August 2014 as part of the larger BMC/BL spares day at Ferry Meadows Peterborough.COOC members were instrumental in starting the Peterborough
event 21 years ago and the committee is still chaired by long standing member
David Frost. However, the club has not held its National Rally in conjunction
with the Ferry Meadows rally for over ten years so it was nice to return to an
event which has always been at the core of the yearly COOC calendar. A strong and varied attendance of 62 club cars and many more
members from all over the UK were present, the furthest travelled being Ken Breckon's
Riley 4/72 which had a total journey of over 350miles. It was notable that more club cars than ever are being restored
to a very high standard, showing that the Farina and pre-farina designs really
have found their feet as classic cars. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Pre-farina cars which launched the component set the club caters for and we hope to make the AGM in October a celebration of these cars. |
